Stroller rage at Departure Bay ferry terminal
Jan 07 2012
Nanaimo RCMP are looking for a man who threw his child's stroller at a door after being told he had missed the boarding cutoff for a ferry.
The incident happened Tuesday in the B.C. Ferries Departure Bay terminal in Nanaimo, about five minutes before the 6 p.m. ferry to Horseshoe Bay sailed.
The man became hostile when he was told it was too late to board and, with his toddler in one arm, threw the child's stroller at an outside door, causing significant damage, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman Const. Gary O'Brien said.
The man is Caucasian, about five-feet-eight, of medium build with short, dark hair, a moustache and goatee beard. He was with a woman who is also Caucasian. She had black hair, tied in a ponytail, and wore a black hoodie and was carrying a backpack.
Anyone with information should call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
