Attempted robbery at downtown Victoria store
Jan 10 2012
A knife-weilding man attempted to rob a downtown 7-Eleven convenience store early this morning.
The medium-build man wearing a ski mask, attempted to rob the Douglas Street store at around 3 a.m. He entered the store, produced a knife and demanded cash.
He was unsuccessful and left without cash from the store.
It’s the same store, near Burdett Avenue, that Victoria Const. Lane Douglas-Hunt was leaving on Jan. 17, 2011 — after investigating a shop-lifting report — when she was attacked.
Douglas-Hunt, who suffered puncture wounds to her neck and severed tendons and arteries in her left hand, returned to work two months later. Guy Hervé Seguin was charged with attempted murder in the incident. He stands trial in February 2012
Patrol officers and a dog attended the scene of the attempted robbery this morning but could not locate the man.
The suspect, wearing a ski mask, is described as possibly having blonde hair and blue eyes.
