Driver in intensive care unit after crash north of Courtenay

A driver in his early 20s was in the intensive care unit of a Victoria hospital Wednesday after his car rolled into a ditch near Black Creek, north of Courtenay.
The accident was reported to Comox Valley RCMP about 8 a.m. The driver, who was alone in the small car, had very serious injuries and was taken to hospital in Comox before being airlifted to Victoria, police said.
The cause of the accident has not been determined.
