Value Village's sagging floor not a hazard
Feb 01 2012
Value Village in downtown Victoria has blocked off a portion of its store after the building’s floor has started to sag.
Store manager Mike Goddard said he’s unsure why the floor is collapsing, but that a City of Victoria engineer was on scene Wednesday morning to examine the structure.
“The building is still safe the engineer said,” Goddard said. Customers are still allowed in the store, but are being prevented from walking on the part of the floor in question, he said.
The sagging floor was first noticed by bloggers on the Vibrant Victoria website, who questioned why customers would still be allowed in a store with what could be a potential structural problem.
