Burst water pipe forces Valentine's dinner evacuation at restaurant
Feb 15 2012
Valentine’s Day patrons at Ric’s Grill were given a soggy proposal Tuesday night when they were asked to leave the downtown Victoria restaurant because of a burst water pipe.
The Government Street restaurant near the Inner Harbour had to be evacuated around 8 p.m. due to jilted pipes. The restaurant was serving up a special three-course Valentine’s dinner.
About 30 diners were enjoying their food at the time. The restaurant said it picked up the tab.
The damage was not extensive, according to the restaurant, but diners were not allowed to return to their meals.
