Updated: A 17-year-old pedestrian was struck on Old Island Highway

A 17-year-old man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car on the Island Highway Tuesday night.
The View Royal teen had just come off a public transit bus around 7:50 a.m. and was crossing the north-bound lane on the Old Island Highway when he was struck by a motorcycle ridden by a Langford man.
The pedestrian fell down and was struck a second time by a car driven by a Crofton man heading south on the highway.
View Royal Fire, West Shore RCMP and B.C. Ambulance rushed to the scene. The man was taken to Victoria General Hospital with a serious head injury.
An RCMP traffic analyst was also called to the scene to assist in the investigation.
The highway was closed until 11 p.m.
