Complaint about unwanted guest leads to drug charges

A 28-year-old Victoria man described as "intoxicated and unco-operative" by Oceanside RCMP during a weekend arrest was set to face five charges in a Monday court appearance.
Police said they responded to a Saturday evening call about an unwanted guest at a Parksville residence — the man in question, who met them at the door. He refused to give his name or respond to other lawful requests from officers.
He was arrested for obstruction, and a subsequent search of the man turned up a significant amount of cocaine, RCMP said.
Along with the obstruction charge, he faces a charge of cocaine possession and three counts of breaching court-ordered conditions.
