Victoria police arrest man after serious assault

Victoria police arrested a man after a serious assault at the former Traveller's Inn at 760 Queens St. Thursday night.
The victim called police at 8:15 p.m. from the lobby of the city-owned Queens Manor, reporting he had been attacked.
Officers found the man suffering from cuts and blunt-force trauma, Staff Sgt. Kerry Panton said. Panton would not say what kind of weapon was used.
The victim was taken to hospital. Police arrested a 41-year-old man nearby who is well known to police. He faces assault charges.
