A logging accident Monday that injured two men in the woods near Ladysmith is under investigation by WorkSafe BC, TimberWest and Nanaimo Lake Logging, said TimberWest spokeswoman Sue Handel on Tuesday.
The men, employed by Nanaimo Lakes Logging Ltd., sustained non-life-threatening injuries when they were struck by a log as they were carrying out cable logging, said Handel in an email.
The mishap occurred at Chipman Creek, near Holland Lake and a 25-minute drive from Ladysmith.
Both men were flown by helicopter to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
“TimberWest very much appreciates the efforts of the B.C. Ambulance Service and other supporting agencies in coordinating a successful rescue effort,” said Handel’s email.
