Four youths arrested after recent vandalism at Nanaimo elementary school
Feb 29 2012
Dog feces were smeared on doors and windows were broken in a recent case of vandalism at a Nanaimo elementary school.
A second school also had windows broken, and paint was thrown on outside walls.
Three youths were arrested in connection with the case by Nanaimo RCMP school liaison officers, and a fourth was arrested separately. Three of suspects are 15 and one is 13, and all attend the same high school in Nanaimo.
Police allege that the damage to the second school was done after the group broke into a nearby construction site and stole the paint that they used on the walls. Estimated damage at the school is $1,000.
The youths were released into the custody of their parents. Police are recommending that each be charged with two counts of mischief and one count of break-and-enter.
