Pedestrian struck by car on Blanshard near Tolmie

A pedestrian was hit by a car on Blanshard Street at Tolmie Avenue around 8 p.m. Friday night.
The southbound lane of Blanshard Street was blocked off as police investigated. Two SUVs were smashed in the front end and had to be towed from the scene.
B.C. Ambulance treated the pedestrian on scene but the person did not have to be taken to hospital.
Another pedestrian was uninjured in a hit and run in Saanich Friday night.
The woman called 911 around 9:16 p.m. saying she was knocked over by a car at St. Aidans Street and Cedar Hill Cross Road. A black, older model car, possibly a Trans Am, sped off down Shelbourne Street.
Saanich police are investigating.
