Greater Victoria woman arrested for card fraud

Police arrested a Greater Victoria woman suspected of using stolen credit cards to purchase items from retailers across the province.
The 30-year-old woman was arrested Thursday by Saanich police, West Shore RCMP and the Regional Crime Unit.
Investigators say the woman has been buying money orders, lottery tickets and merchandise from different retailers across B.C. since early February.
She would go into a store with a female accomplice and pretend to use a debit card for the purchase, but instead override the point of sale terminal by manually entering the stolen credit card number.
The woman, who has no fixed addressed but was believed to be staying in Saanich, appeared in court Friday. She was remanded into custody until a court date on Monday to swear the charges.
The woman’s name was not released.
