Police find $70,000 worth of drugs, weapons while searching downtown hotel

Victoria police seized an assortment of drugs with an estimated street value of close to $70,000 Wednesday night while executing a search warrant at the City Centre Hotel on Douglas Street.
Officers moved in about 10: 30 p.m. and found cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, methamphetamines, GHB and various prescription drugs. Also found were about $10,000 in cash, stolen property and a number of weapons including brass knuckles and a stun gun.
Included in the stolen property were identification and credit cards linked to a number of recent vehicle break-ins around the region.
A 29-year-old woman and a 32-year-man, both known to police, were arrested and scheduled for Thursday court appearances.
