Apr 14 2012
A new trial date has been set for the man accused of fatally stabbing a 15-year-old Victoria High School student in June 2010.
Corey Daniel Barry is charged with the second-degree murder of Justin Wendland. The 15-year-old was stabbed as he waited for a bus on Douglas Street in front of the Times Colonist building.
Jury selection is set for Jan. 7, 2013, and the case will proceed immediately to trial.
"We expect the trial will take a maximum of four weeks," said Crown prosecutor Scott Van Alstine.
