Man stabbed in Hudson building in Victoria
Apr 15 2012
A man with stab wounds to his head walked into the Victoria Police department Saturday afternoon to report an assault that occurred at The Hudson on Douglas Street.
Police have since arrested a man in connection to the incident, but they would not reveal many details, saying only that the victim was in his early 20s and the suspect was in his late 40s.
One resident at the Hudson, Will Whittaker, said he heard from his neighbours that someone on the second floor of the building had been stabbed. Police were investigating on-site early in the afternoon.
"I don't know much about it, I just heard that someone was stabbed,' Whittaker said.
He is surprised incidents like this take place in what he said is a "really nice building." In December, police seized five firearms from an apartment in the Hudson, arresting a 24-year-old Victoria man linked to the residence.
"You wouldn't expect that sort of stuff happening, and I'm sure they're not connected, but it's just weird," he said.
Neither of the two men in the latest incident are believed to live in the building, police said.
