Car crash knocks out power in Langford

May 24 2012

Some Langford homes were without electricity after a car crashed into a control box early Wednesday morning.

Around 4: 27 a.m., a Chrysler sedan was heading south on McCallum Road near Millstream Road when the driver lost control.

The vehicle rolled down an embankment and landed on top of a B.C. Hydro box. Langford firefighters and West Shore RCMP attended the accident. The car's two occupants were not injured.

B.C. Hydro crews were on scene all morning working to restore power.

The driver was given a ticket for driving without due care and attention, said West Shore RCMP.
