A 47-year-old man is in jail after he allegedly made two break-in attempts separated by six hours and a medical emergency.
About 8 p.m. Wednesday, Kevin Henry was arrested after a residence in the 200 block of Government Street was broken into, said Victoria Police Const. Mike Russell. The homeowner tackled the man while a neighbour called 911.
Police arrested Henry at the scene. He was taken to a jail cell but was taken to hospital for a medical emergency. He was issued a promise to appear in court. Henry checked himself out of the hospital.
At about 2 a.m. Thursday, a Meares Street resident was on the phone with police when her home was entered. Henry was arrested nearby.
Henry is charged with two counts of break and enter. He is in custody and is to appear in Victoria provincial court June 14.
