Two men in their 20s suffered only minor injuries Friday when the truck they were in lost control and flipped over on the Trans-Canada Highway near Nightingale Road.

The pair was headed north about noon in a truck with a bin of drywall on the back. Shawnigan Lake RCMP said the truck appeared to lose control, swerving off the roadway and into the ditch before heading back onto the pavement and hitting the meridian between the north and south lanes.

The truck ended up on its hood pointed in the opposite direction of traffic, and the load of drywall was strewn about. The driver and passenger were taken to Cowichan District Hospital for treatment.

Traffic backed up as much as two kilometres to Mill Bay  as police dealt with the incident.
