Jul 13 2012
A man had to be airlifted to hospital Thursday afternoon after losing control of his speeding motorcycle in Cumberland.
The man went off road and into a ditch while travelling down Royston Road around 1 p.m.
Witnesses heard the crash and called 911. Comox Valley RCMP and Cumberland firefighters found the man injured in the ditch.
He was airlifted to Victoria General Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Comox Valley RCMP Cpl. Cari Lougheed said speed appears to be what caused the crash.
RCMP traffic analysts were on scene all day investigating.
