Nanaimo woman struck by vehicle

A 23-year-old Nanaimo woman was in stable condition Tuesday afternoon after she was struck by a car while in a marked crosswalk.
The driver of the car was female and in her 80s, said Sgt. Sheryl Armstrong of Nanaimo RCMP.
The impact of the collision caused the pedestrian to fly through the air and land on the roadway.
The collision occurred at 3: 15 p.m. at the intersection of Jinglepot Road and Berringer Boulevard, which was closed to traffic while RCMP investigators examined the scene.
The victim was taken to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
