A loss-prevention officer trying to take a bite out of crime had the tables turned on her Thursday. The woman was bitten on the forearm while dealing with an alleged shoplifter at Walmart, said Staff Sgt. Scott Treble.
A 30-year-old Saanich woman is being charged with theft and assault. As she had her 18-month-old son with her in a stroller at the time, officers also notified child protection officials with the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
The 26-year-old loss-prevention officer had a mark on her arm but was not seriously hurt.
