Fugitive could be in capital region: police

Aug 30 2012

A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant over the revoking of his parole could be in the capital region, according to Victoria police.

Dezmond White, 22, did not return to his Surrey halfway house as required late last week. He has several connections in the Victoria area, and police believe he might have come here.

White has an extensive history of violence and should be avoided, police said. He had been serving a sentence for break and enter, uttering threats and firearms offences stemming from a case in Victoria and Saanich in 2010.

White is described as six feet tall and about 180 pounds, with blue eyes and short, brown hair. He has numerous tattoos, including a dragon on his upper left arm, the word "Mollin" on his upper back, the word "west" on his right hand and "side" on his left.

Anyone with information on White's location is asked to call 911 or contact Det. Shawn Robson at shawn.robson@vicpd.ca .
