West Shore RCMP seek witnesses in alleged Langford mugging

Sep 10 2012

West Shore RCMP are seeking witnesses in an alleged Langford mugging.

Around 4:30 p.m. Friday, a 14-year-old girl got off the Route 50 Langford/Downtown bus on Langford Parkway at Jacklin Road. She was approached by a female in her late teens and pushed to the ground. The older female took some cash from the young girl’s pockets, pulled out a knife, threatened the girl to not call police and took off on foot.

As the incident took place during the afternoon on a busy street, police believe several people witnessed what happened and urge them to come forward.
The alleged thief is described as a white female in her late teens with long sandy-blonde hair. She was wearing a dark blue hoodie and black skinny jeans.

In a press release, Watch Commander Cpl. Cory Bayda said: “We treat all crimes seriously, but when a weapon is produced and this level of violence is used against a young person we consider it to be even more serious and we will do everything we can to solve this.”

If you have any information on the incident please contact West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
