Guests twist brains for museum

Nearly 400 gala guests happily drank wine, nibbled on goodies and twisted their brains - and still managed to raise a gross total of $98,000 at a Royal B.C. Museum fundraiser on Thursday night.
Thanks in part to a nearly sold-out 376 tickets, the net for the eighth annual Artifact or Artifiction evening could reach the mid-$80,000s or higher, said director of development Camille Cuthill.
The event involved museum curators, conservators and archivists trying to outfox guests, who had to determine whether artifacts from the museum and archives collections were truly what they were labelled to be.
"We had a wonderful evening," Cuthill said.
Last year, the fundraiser netted $82,000.
