An unconscious man was taken to hospital Saturday afternoon after he was struck by a falling tree while walking on a trail in Beaver Lake Park.
Emergency responders on the scene said the 55-year-old man was walking with two of his friends when the 21-metre tree fell out of the forested area and struck two people in the group.
The one man is believed to have suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital, said acting Sgt. Doug Cripps of Saanich Police. A second man suffered minor injuries.
More to come.
