Wondering what to do with your Halloween pumpkins? Compost them for a good cause.
Thrifty Foods is hosting the annual Pumpkin Smash at four locations this weekend. Pumpkins will be smashed, mashed and composted by donation to the Greater Victoria Compost Education Centre in partnership with Thrifty Foods, Ellice Recycle and the Capital Regional District. Family-friendly activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Saturday:

? Thrifty On Sunday: Foods Fairfield, 1590 Fairfield Rd.
? ThriftyFoods Admirals Walk, 1495 Admirals Rd.
? Thrifty Foods Cloverdale, 3475 Quadra St.
Pumpkins can also be dropped off for composting between Nov. 1 and 6 at the following locations:
