Greater Victoria's regional crime unit is hunting for a man believed to be responsible for a string of property crimes in the region.
Derek Fast is wanted on 12 charges, but investigators say they represent just a small number of the crimes he could be responsible for.
An estimated 150 items were discovered in a Colwood home last week when the regional crime unit executed a search warrant while investigating Fast.
Officers found a sawed-off shotgun, electronics, car parts, identification material, credit cards, licence plates and jewelry, among other items. The 12 charges laid against Fast so far include theft, possession of stolen property and possession of a prohibited weapon, but more are expected once investigators identify the items and return them to their owners.
Fast was last seen by police on Thursday afternoon when he left the home they later searched in the 500 block of Stornoway Drive in Colwood, driving his girlfriend's vehicle.
Police said they attempted to pull him over in the area of Jacklin and Sooke Roads, but he abandoned the vehicle and ran.
