Victoria business owner gets Liberal nod
Nov 09 2012
The B.C. Liberals have named Victoria business owner Christina Bates as the party's candidate in Victoria-Swan Lake.
Bates, 44, is the owner of One Tooth Victoria on Broad Street.
She said she supports the business-friendly climate created by the Liberal government and appreciates Premier Christy Clark.
"I could open another store, that'd be easy, but learning how to give back to the community, that's worthwhile," Bates said of running for public office.
She'll be facing two-term NDP incumbent Rob Fleming in the riding. The provincial election is set for May 14.
