Coast guard auxiliary station gives public a peek at new wharf home
Nov 10 2012
Volunteers with Station 36 of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary are hosting an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. today at their newly renovated wharf space.
The 28-member group is now headquartered in a Canoe Cove Marina boathouse, which was donated by a marina customer and refurbished for search-and-rescue purposes after a fundraising drive.
Auxiliary member Vern Tot-ten said there will be plenty to look at.
"We'll have all our rescue equipment laid out, and give the public a chance to come down and see what their donations are going toward."
