A man charged with the second-degree murder of a Langford father appeared in Victoria provincial court Tuesday.
Daryle Wayne Johnson, a slightly built man with receding hair and a goatee, is accused of murdering Clifford Roy Antonsen and wounding his brother Robert Lyle Antonsen. The offences are alleged to have occurred Friday night at an Esquimalt apartment building. At Johnson's brief court appearance Tuesday, the Crown asked Judge Ernie Quantz to impose an order prohibiting Johnson from contacting nine people. Defence lawyer Tom Morino asked for the case to be adjourned until Nov. 28.
Officers were called to a fight at 614 Grenville Ave. about 9 p.m. Friday after receiving reports of a stabbing. Police said Clifford Antonsen, a 57-year-old father of three, was unresponsive on the floor.
Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
Victoria police officers arrested Johnson on Saturday morning.
