Incumbent north Islander Jody Wilson-Raybould remains B.C. regional chief

Jody Wilson-Raybould has been re-elected regional chief for the B.C. Assembly of First Nations.
Wilson-Raybould, a council member for We Wai Kai Nation on northern Vancouver Island, was elected on the first ballot with 78 per cent, or 126 of the 162 ballots cast. Shana Manson drew 25 votes and Marjorie McRae drew 11 votes. It was the first time all three candidates for regional chief were women.
Wilson-Raybould lives on Quadra Island and ran on a platform of strong governance, fair access to land and resources and improved education and health care.
