A 59-year-old man struck in a Nanaimo crosswalk Thursday afternoon is expected to recover.
He was kept in hospital overnight and released Friday morning.
Nanaimo RCMP Const. Gary O'Brien said it has not yet been determined whether charges will be laid against the 36-year-old driver.
It was the third incident in Nanaimo in recent weeks involving cars and pedestrians, including one fatality.
A Victoria woman also died this week after being hit by a vehicle on Douglas Street.
