Dec 01 2012
The regional crime unit has arrested a man believed to be responsible for a number of recent break-ins.
Staff Sgt. Todd Bryant said regional crime unit officers had a man under surveillance and watched him trespass on private properties near the Pat Bay Highway and Say-ward Road. As he left the area, officers arrested the man on an outstanding Victoria police warrant for breach of probation.
Bryant said a followup investigation indicated there had been a break-in at a Pat Bay Highway home.
A 36-year-old Sidney man was arrested. He is being held in custody at the Saanich police department and is expected to appear in Victoria provincial court on Monday on charges of break and enter and theft.
