Woman ejected through windshield in Sooke car accident rescued by firefighters

Nov 09 2011

A woman who was partially ejected from the windshield of her vehicle is being treated at Victoria General Hospital after an accident Monday near Sooke.

RCMP attended the scene of the rollover crash on Sooke Road near Woodlands at 7:30 p.m. and found the lone occupant in the 2004 Chevrolet Aveo.

The woman, a 58-year-old Sooke resident, was extricated from the vehicle by firefighters and transported to hospital.

An RCMP collision analyst conducted an investigation of the crash scene. RCMP say alcohol and drug impairment are not suspected and seatbelt usage remains under investigation.

The road was closed for several hours.
