Council candidate's computer stolen in office burglary

Victoria city council candidate Shellie Gudgeon has put up a $500 reward for the return of her iMac computer, which was stolen from her campaign office Friday.
A volunteer left the office, at 899 Fort St., just before 8 a.m. to pick up a rake for cleaning the street gutters.
The volunteer returned about 45 minutes later to find a broken front window. Nothing else in the office was touched, Gudgeon said.
Gudgeon planned to knock on doors Saturday in the hope of finding someone who saw the incident.
"I'm cautiously optimistic it might get returned," she said.
Gudgeon stored the computer in the back of her office every night.
She suspects someone had been watching her routine and knew what they wanted when breaking in.
Gudgeon said she will not ask questions if the computer is returned. She can be reached at her campaign office, at 250-388-5939.
