Cyclist injures leg in collision

A cyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries after being struck by a car Wednesday.
The 41-year-old man was cycling north on Vernon Avenue around 10:50 a.m., approaching Ravine Way, when he was clipped by a car making a left-hand turn onto Vernon, said Staff Sgt. Scott Treble of Saanich police.
B.C. Ambulance paramedics, Saanich firefighters and police attended. The man suffered a leg injury. The driver was given a ticket for failing to yield after a stop.
