Oceanside RCMP investigate two break and enters
Dec 08 2011
Oceanside RCMP are investigating two break and enters in Qualicum Beach Wednesday night which appear to be linked.
Around 8:30 p.m. witnesses called police to report a possible break and enter to the B.C. Liquor Store on Primrose Street, said RCMP Sgt. Darrell Robertson. The culprits smashed a glass panel on the front of the building but couldn’t get into the store.
They fled before police could arrive.
An hour and a half later, Oceanside RCMP were called about a break and enter to Lefty’s Restaurant on Memorial Avenue.
The burglar stole liquor by prying open a cabinet in the restaurant.
A police dog handler tried to track the suspects but was unsuccessful, Robertson said.
Investigators are also looking at whether the two break and enters are connected to a break-ins in Parksville and Coombs in late November.
Anyone with information should call Oceanside RCMP at 250-248-6111, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
