Missing boater might have fallen into Todd Inlet
Dec 27 2011
Police are looking for a missing man who might have fallen into the water from his boat in Todd Inlet.
Another boater called Central Saanich police around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, saying he saw the 42-year-old Brentwood Bay man heading in a dinghy to his boat anchored near Willis Point, Sgt. John Teague said Monday.
The caller became worried when he noticed later that the man was not on the boat, where he lives.
The Victoria Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre was called but coast guard members and divers could not find the man.
Teague said Sidney/North Saanich RCMP have taken over the file because it’s in their jurisdiction. The missing man’s name was not released.
